The Lower Merion Aces defeated the Springfield Cougars last night 7 – 1 in the Aces home opener.
Isaac Bredbenner scored an unassisted goal just 1:12 into the first period to give the Aces a quick lead. Ben Williams then would double the score soon afterwards to give Lower Merion a 2 – 0 going into the second period.
Anthony LePera’s powerplay goal would make it 3 – 0 after he redirected a shot from the point. Schuler Dillon then would score a shorthanded to give the Aces a 4 – 0 lead. Lower Merion’s David Wilf would tally another powerplay goal when he took a clapper from the point that beat Springfield’s goalie through a screen.
The Cougars would make it a 5 – 1 game on a fancy goal by Adin Zappo to close the middle stanza scoring.
Alex Broder and Will Treiman then would score a powerplay goal respective to make it a 7 – 1 game.
