Divisional Championship Finals’ Previews

Ches-Mont
WC Henderson @ WC Bayard Rustin
WC Henderson finished in fourth place in the Ches-Mont division during the regular season with an 8-4 record for sixteen points, four points behind division leader Downingtown East and second place Rustin. Henderson was seeded fourth in the playoffs. They defeated fifth seed Downingtown West 5 – 4 in overtime and then beat first seed Downingtown East 4 – 3 in overtime to advance to the finals.

Rustin finished the regular season in second place with a 9-1-1-1 record for twenty points. They were seeded second and received a first-round bye. They beat third seed WC East 5 – 1 to advance to the championship game.

Rustin swept the season 2 – 0 with both games being routs (10 – 0 and 10 – 2). The Knights’ Matt Owens had eight goals in two games. Tonight’s game is at 6:30PM at Ice Line.

Central
Lower Merion @ Conestoga
The Aces finished in fourth place in the regular season with an 11-0-4-1 record for 23 points, five points behind division leader Strath Haven. Lower Merion also was the fourth seed in the playoffs. The Aces beat fifth seed Springfield 5 – 4 and then beat first seed Strath Haven 2 – 1 to advance to the championship game.

The Pioneers ended the season in second place with a 13-2-0-0 record for 26 points. They earned a first round bye and defeated six seed Ridley 5 – 4 in overtime to advance to the divisional finals.

The teams split their two-game series this season. The Pioneers won the first game 8 – 5 while the Aces won the second game 3 – 2. The Aces Schuyler Dillon scored four goals while the Pioneers Frank Konopasek and Jayden Sison each scored three goals. Tonight’s game is at 7:30PM at IceWorks.

PCL
Father Judge @ Cardinal O’Hara
The Crusaders finished in first place with a 7-1-0-2 record for 16 points. However, since they played one more game than second place Cardinal O’Hara, Father Judge were the second seed in the playoffs. The Crusaders had a first-round bye and easily defeated third seed Salesianum 8 – 1 to advance to the division finals.

The Lions finished the regular season in second place with a 7-1-1-0 record for 15 points, but they had a game in-hand on the first-place Crusaders, earning the Lions the number one seed and first-round bye. Cardinal O’Hara advanced to tonight’s championship game by defeating fifth seed Roman Catholic 6 – 0.

The Lions swept their two game regular season series this season. They won the first game 4- 3 in overtime and then won game two 3 – 0. John Paul Ahern led the Lions with three goals while Matt Ryan had two goals for the Crusaders. The championship game will be played at the Skatium at 8:00PM.

Liberty
Owen J. Roberts @ Boyertown
The Wildcats finished the regular in second place in Liberty North with a 9-3-0-0 record for 18 points, six points behind division leader Boyertown. Owen J. Roberts were the North’s seed number two and defeated South seed St. Marks 10 – 0 and North seed number four Perkiomen Valley 5 – 4 to advance to the divisional finals.

The Bears finished in first place during the regular season in Liberty North with a 12-0-0-0 record for 24 points. They earned the North number one seed. They defeated South seed number four Interboro 3 – 1, and they defeated South seed number two Appoquinimink 6 – 5 in overtime to advance to the championship game.

Boyertown won both their games against the Wildcats this regular season, winning the first game 9 – 2 and the second game 5 – 2. The Bears’ Jake Harman led all scorers with four goals. Tonight’s game will be played at 8:30PM at Ice Line.
